Borrowing Policies

Who can borrow CTC library materials?

  • Currently enrolled CTC students
  • Currently enrolled CTC dual enrollment students
  • Currently enrolled CTC Adult Education Program students
  • Currently employed CTC staff and faculty (including part-time staff and adjunct faculty)

How do I get a library card?
Your CTC ID card is your library card. You must show your ID to check out materials.

How many items can I check out?
You may check out 3 items at one time.

How long can I keep my library materials?
Materials may be checked out for 28 days at a time.

How do I renew materials?
Items may be renewed by visiting, calling, or emailing the library.

How many times can I renew my materials?
Books may be renewed twice unless there is a hold placed by another patron on the book.

How are fines and fees calculated?

There are no daily overdue fees. Materials checked out should be returned in good condition by the due date. If an item is damaged, mutilated, or lost and not returned, you must pay the full cost of the material and an additional $10 processing fee.

However, Dual Enrollment Textbooks must be returned on time at the end of the semester they were checked out. If you fail to return the book, you will have a hold placed on your student Banner account. You will not be able to register for courses until the book is returned or paid for. If the book is lost, you will be charged $75 to remove the hold.

What happens if I do not pay my lost or damaged material fees?

A Banner Hold will be placed on your account and you will not be able to register for classes. You will also not be able to graduate or receive transcripts until your library account has been cleared.
