Purpose of this guide
This guide was created to help students enrolled in one of the American History courses at Columbus Technical College. It aims to provide a brief overview of the numerous resources available to them, either in the physical library or online through the virtual branch. The contents of this guide include primary and secondary sources such as books, electronic journals, local and open access databases, eBooks, videos, and study guides on the topic of American History.

U.S. History 2111-Emphasizes the study of U.S. History to 1877 to include the post Civil War period. The course focuses on the period from the Age of Discovery through the Civil War.
U.S. History 2112-Emphasizes the study of the social, cultural and political history of the United States from 1865 to the beginning of the twenty-first century.
